Arturo Alagón, Gobernador distrito 2203 Rotary 2019-20Dear friends,

Although August is the quintessential holiday month, many of us are still awaiting club activities. In the informal meetings of many Rotarians, we talk and plan actions to start a strong September.

That month will be held Seminars of: Membership, TRF, Communication, Youth and Finance along with a training day, exclusively for youth delegates, in: Malaga, Almoradí and Mallorca on days 14, 21, and 28 respectively. It is advisable to write down and release those dates in order to attend. From the district team we want to be close and accessible, to be able to lend a hand in the questions that arise and in which you need advice. To say To do.

The district teams are still active at this time, the delegates prepare the visits of the governor, the extension team and some Rotarians work in the formation of new clubs that this year will give us some good news before Christmas, our responsible for revitalizing the Information about the polio plus program has marked its road map so that the month of October is a month full of activity, the TRF team has already obtained the approval of its first Global Grant (RC Alicante Puerto) and they hope that in September the first heart intervention will be performed to a child from Kenya. The Global Grant led by the Sevilla Giralda club to perform in San Luis – Senegal – is already remitted and in the approval phase by the Evaston headquarters. The Global Grant that leads RC Alicante and that of the RC Palma Catedral are finalizing its design. From the last year we have pending approval of the RC Marbella Guadalmina Global Grant on training of  Palestinian doctors in Israel. There are some clubs that have already asked about district grants, please remember that this is for the end of the year.

In my case and taking advantage of the August break in visits to clubs, I maintain continuous meetings with members of the committees that make up the district team, to continue polishing objectives and actions and thus serve the clubs with the best efficiency. I also attend interdistrict meetings on Youth, the “FHRE”, etc., to coordinate with 2201 and 2202 districts nationwide actions, that give us more visibility and more strength in our actions, coordinating information and projects.

I take this opportunity to comment that August is for Rotary the month of Membership and the creation of new clubs, our president Marc Maloney tells us that we must grow the impact of our projects, and we must grow in our membership so that we can achieve more.

In our district, we have set ourselves the goal of 2019-2020 to reach 2,000 members and minimize membership losses in the clubs, for this we have created this year a specific program of training in Membership and Creation of New clubs that has begun in the past July.

Remember that Tolerance, Fellowship and Service are the fundamental ingredients for the success of a club and in Rotary.

See you in September, have a good summer.

TO SAY TO DO
